The Wabash County United Fund Invests in programs that have a positive impact on the quality of life for residents of Wabash County.

OUR STORY

Wabash County United Fund has been in the community since 1957. The organization was created as a way for companies and their employees to support the work of local non-profit organizations. United Fund has always prioritized programming that supports struggling individuals and families who are trying to meet life’s challenges. Through its 66-year history, donations made to United Fund have impact thousands of families and given them a better chance for success.

FUNDED AGENCIES

85 Hope: Free medical clinic to provide compassionate primary medical care and other healthcare services to low-income adult residents of Wabash County who are uninsured or under-insured.

Advantage Housing, Inc.: Focuses on homeless prevention by meeting the housing needs of the underserved. Currently renovating a house on Hill Street H.O.S.T. (Housing Option Short Term) with four separate units for men, or women, or families. Their warehouse is located in Kokomo with all proceeds supporting affordable housing, emergency housing, and housing counseling.

ARC of Wabash County: Provides programs and services for individuals with intellectual, developmental, and other disabilities in Wabash County and surrounding areas.

Blessings in a Backpack – Wabash: Filling the weekend food needs for at-risk children, PreK – 6th grade.

Community Cupboard Food Pantry: Located at the Winchester Senior Center where volunteers collect and distribute essential food supplies and household items to Wabash County residents with a demonstrated need.

Hands of Hope – Radiant Health: Offering advocacy, case management and counseling for anyone mentally, sexually, financially, emotionally, or physically abused.

Hoosiers Feeding the Hungry: Encourages hunters and farmers to donate large game and livestock to their “Meat” the Need Program through a participating meat processor, raises financial support to pay for processing fees on donated meat, and gives to hunger relief agencies.

LaFontaine Learning Community: A child-care ministry, serving infants through age 12. Offering Childcare, Preschool, Summer Day Camps, and more.

Learn More Center: Offers skills for the High School Equivalency Exam, English Language Learner, College Transitions, and Career Trainings.

Lighthouse Mission: More than just a retail store – they provide clothing, household items, hygiene products, etc. for people that are currently in a tough situation and are struggling.

Manchester Early Learning Center (MELC):  Provides quality care and developmentally appropriate education for children 0-5 years of age.

Montessori School at WPC (Wabash Presbyterian Church): The Montessori Method is a student-centered, observation-based approach to education offered to children 18 months to 9 years.

Pathfinder Services (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance): VITA supports people with low to moderate incomes, senior citizens, people with disabilities, and those who speak limited English to receive free tax preparation.

Roann Community Building: Rental space available for reunions, showers, parties, and more.

Somerset Community Building: A popular rental venue for family reunions, club meetings, and birthday parties.

Wabash County United Fund: Invests in programs that have a positive impact on the quality of life for residents of Wabash County.

Wabash FAME: The mission of FAME is to foster creativity through multicultural arts education. The next FAME Festival in Wabash will be held on March 16, 2024.

Wabash County Cancer Society: Support and assistance for anyone who has cancer in Wabash County with equipment loans, prescription reimbursement, and milage reimbursement for appointments within Indiana.

Wabash County Tobacco Free Coalition: Provides dangers of tobacco and secondhand smoke information & resources for those ready to quit.

Wabash County Transit: Offers transportation for all ages, all over the county. 60+ free will donation, 59 and under, $2 fare for one-way trip in the city limits of N. Manchester and Wabash. $4 one-way anywhere else in the county. Caregivers ride for free and free rides are given to those needing transportation to any soup kitchens, pantries, WIC Office, and 85 Hope in Wabash County.
